About Director
Vignesh Vyas is an Indian-origin British filmmaker based in Essex. His short film ‘Swaraj’ was played at Raindance film festival as part of the MA screening and in the Human rights film festival, Barcelona (2015). Vignesh completed his MA in Film production from Staffordshire University – where he also wrote and started the production of his first feature film ‘Kamsa’. Apart from being a filmmaker, Vignesh works as an Occupational Therapist within NHS Mental Health settings. Vignesh currently does research on the therapeutic use of filmmaking within mental health and learning disability settings – and he has presented his research at various international conferences and he was awarded the President’s Prize by the Association of Medical Humanities for his research within therapeutic use of filmmaking. One of the therapeutic filmmaking work that Vignesh did for a London based NHS trust was awarded the Highly commendable award by the HSJ awards.
Film Overview
Inspired by a true story…In the 1980s, a teenager experiences a trauma and suffers a breakdown. Later in life, as an adult he suffers another psychotic episode and is lost on London’s streets. Help comes from unexpected kindness…
